Upper Crust's name takes inspiration from the oven baked products having a crispy upper layer and also addresses the target audience, the upper strata of modern India.
Started on April 1st, 1989 by Lester D'souza, who studied at IHM and completed his training from Taj Mansingh, Delhi, Upper Crust is his dream venture which he has widely expanded after establishing his first outlet at CG road.
In 1994, he was joined by his wife Monisha and together they started their second outlet at Vijay X roads. The culinary expedition started off as a bakery which later diversified to become a fusion food chain.
Upper Crust then went on to become a household name in international cuisines and catering, displaying a unique selection of Starters, Indian, Fusion, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, Thai and a wide spectrum of mocktails, desserts and confectionaries. "We don't claim to serve you any authentic cuisine we create our own fusion food to suit local palate" says Monisha D'souza.
Shagun is a catering division by Upper Crust that specializes in Indian Food, striving to give out the best party experience through mouthwatering Gujarati, Rajasthani and Punjabi dishes.
At the most, the menu may change from outlet to outlet but the hospitality and eagerness to serve our patrons with nothing but the best culinary experience remains the same.
Upper Crust is the proud recipient of 9 awards from The TOI and various others from Burrp, TripAdvisor etc.
Lester and Monisha D'souza have created a legacy for their children, Aditya, who is studying hospitality in the UK, and Natasha, who is interested in patissiere and is already an excellent pastry chef.
